Acoustic blues guitar styles

After the author's success with Acoustic Guitar Styles ( Routledge, April 2002 ), this book introduces the basics of finger style acoustic blues guitar . Most contemporary upcoming blues guitarists learn primarily from books, using guitar tablature or notation , along with videos,CDs, or private teachers, often involving rote repetition instead of encouraging creative exploration. Students are able to play by rote and become copycats, instead of conceptually creating music on their own. Worst of all, their music lacks rhythmic vitality, because they learn how to play notes rather than working on from rhythmic gestures in the picking hands . This book concentrates on making you play rhythmic and full of life.
